VALUE

Value refers to the shades, or variation between lightness and darkness, of any color. Grayscale shows the wide range of values between black and white, and every color has this scale of value as well.

The first two images I selected because they both have rich, beautiful tones of brown that all differ. That is one of the primary aspects of these images that we first notice and think is beautiful. If they were all one value, they would not be half as beautiful or interesting. The lighter parts show the sunshine and or lights from inside, and the darker parts show shadows and add to the richness of the images.

The image I took at the bottom here isolates value quite a bit as well, because there is not all that much to look at in the picture besides the differing value of the color. The variation makes the image pleasing and beautiful. If it was all one value, it would not have the same effect at all.
